The Collective A.K.A are collectively ace. Make a beeline to the Dublin Castle tonight for a magnificent mod/2 Tone/punk and new wave covers act. The Specials, Jam, Madness, The Beat, Clash, Small Faces, The Who, The Kinks– all done with musical chops to die for and a whole lotta soulful attention to detail. Always a fantastic night out in the Dublin, and playing an extra long set for your delectation. Top Ranking, No Full Stop! It’s a mod heavy set tonight, hence two fabulous young mod bands in support. Subculture are laden with all the cool ’79 mod revival trappings style wise and a good deal of Jam/Chords/Purple Hearts stylistic traits musically too. They do it so well, loadsa passion and energy and bangin’ tunes. The Ritz are an exciting young mixed gender modernist indie rock band from Sheffield. And DJs We Got Dexys. Who may well be We Got Killers and are old enough to know better, but sod it, they’re gonna drop some blue-ees and maximize the ace face RnB for your dancing pleasure tonite. Til 2am.
