Click on the late great Ian C above to hear Bugbear’s latest wireless happening care of the remarkable Soho Radio. With special guest Jakko M Jakszyk (front man and second guitar in the inestimably fabulous King Crimson and an all round music making renaissance man). Furthermore Kathy Di Tondo and Joel Vos tell us all about the Punk4mentalhealth movement. Mental health, youth and music are intrinsically linked. We lost Ian and Kurt and an unfathomably immeasurable league of other despairing souls to the elephant in the live room that is broken mental health. Communication is the key. Find out more here….
Punk4MentalHealth is a charity fundraising event comprised of live music, DJ, mental health talks, an art installation of rare punk/post punk items, a celebration of DIY ethics, 2nd annual TeenClash indie awards and more. 27-31 March 2017 is the time, London UK is the place, with events in The Dublin Castle and The Underdog Gallery announced and more to come…. Leading Light Professor Joel Vos explains…
‘I feel extremely grateful to the hundreds of volunteers involved in Punk4MentalHealth. It is heart-warming to see so many bands, artists, speakers and mental health workers involved! We share the belief of raising awareness and breaking the stigma around mental health. And more than ever do we need a punk attitude to support individuals with mental health problems. As many psychological issues are related to the societal cages in which we live, and which punk has always contested. There is a positive alternative possible how we can live together and relate to mental health. Please join us to enjoy music, art and culture about mental health. Together, we can and will make a change!’
Music mends minds, but the musical manipulation of madness, the artistic re-channeling of mental anguish, is creative empowerment in the face of those psychological challenges we all endure from time to time. Meanwhile in Canning Town….street empowerment with a Cockney Reject and a superb blend of hip hop flavas…

The Outfit Hit Camden Town…
The Outfit- Jeff Turner back at the mic with a raw rocking band behind him … but this ain’t The Cockney Rejects. There are some wicked Bad Man moments to be enjoyed in here but equally there’s a large dose of commercially astute hiphop of a post Plan B Brit street nature, as Jeff is joined by two more talented yooot dem mic manipulators, Louis Bowers and Wayne Maynard (a keyboards whizz, rapper and dubstep creator and guitarist with local heroes East End Promises respectively) and an ace full band. Some Clash like musical sophistication blended perfectly with some righteous punk hop anger. Great stuff. With support from Los Santos- Stooges meets street punk raw rocknroll. And.. Defences – Glossy techy pop metal of an astutely commercial persuasion..plenty of pop nous ..female singer and a forceful bunch of tunes.
