Knox joined Buggerbear on their Soho Radioshow just the other evening and if you click on the great Rock N Roll Rescue roustabout and raconteur’s image up there, the mixcloud link will appear, and the warmth and wisdom of our wonderful meeting of ahem minds on the wireless will be yours to enjoy. Consider it an aperitif for double bubble Knox Carnochan action on Bugbear stages in the next coupla weeks. Knox will be joining his old Vibrators muckers on stage in The Dublin Castle Wednesday 29th March for our Punk4MentalHealth fundraiser gig…. cheap tickets are available, click on the poster to your left…and what a great bill it is too with ’77 punk originals Nuffin joined by Princip and Pistolhead UK and the aforementioned double helping of Pure Mania …..come along, support a great cause and enjoy some fabulous music.
The Punk Professor Joel Vos will be joining Bugbear live on Soho Radio on Sunday 26th March at 5pm for a special punk4mentlhealth clinic…feel free to contact us with your queries, worries, issues and exclamations….But back to Mr Knox…
He will be aided and abetted by The London SS for a wonderful bit of away day punk rock action at superb Rocknroll Bar bar none, The Fighting Cocks in Kingston Upon Thames this coming Saturday 18th March. This ace night in The Fighting Cocks you are in for a right treat, as Knox will be playing a rare-as-Keef’s-teef solo set chock fulla all his beautifully hewn punk n roll romantique songs… Baby Baby, Disco In Moscow, Automatic Lover, 24 Hour People, Whips And Furs, Troops Of Tomorrow, what’s not to love? Plus, London SS– arguably a bigger influence on the formation of the infant punk movement than the Sex Pistols. Former members of the London SS went on to form the Clash, The Damned, Generation X. And guitarist Brady is still in there, the living, breathing, drinking, chanting, rocknrolling epitome of the link between glam and punk, he originally trod the boards with Andrew Matheson in the esteemed and equally legendary Hollywood Brats. Step up for a night of pure British rocknroll heritage. Plus..Matt Grocott And The Shrives-The Clash and The Libertines and lots of fizzy punk but with an eye especially on the pop. Great singalong knockabout fun.Last year, two of the members from the band had the opportunity to record an album with Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day and his son Joey Armstrong in Oakland, California at Jingletown Studios. They’ve just completed a second album. Punk joy in abundance.
Also alongside Knox and doling out the ”Screenage Kicks’ on the Soho Radio show displayed here is one Mick Wilson, an all rounder British singer/bassist/producer/composer talent currently not only pursuing prog perfection with Gentle Giant offshoot Three Friends, but also taking vocals and keys in the inestimably great British satirical and sassy rock band 10CC….
