PART 1
PART2

The recent news that Teskkko have banned the wearing of pyjamas in their Cardiff store has sent shock waves of dismay through the scumbags buying fags n beer at 9.30am scumbag community.

Of course there’s nothing wrong with purchasing fags n beer at 9.30am per se, but by choosing to do it clad in yer night wear does suggest a chaotic lifestyle at odds with the happy smiling supermarket consumerist society we all love so much.

Teskkko are quite right to ban the jimjam clad underclass, and perhaps should go a tad  further. Send out the little old men who dribble on yer melons as they bag yer stuff up at the checkout with semi automatics in the style of Sao Paulo street child death squads to finish off the transgressors in the car park in a pool of blood innit.

Actually we welcome punters and bands alike dressed in their pyjamas and funnily enough are even tolerant of attractive young women turning up dressed in provocatively scanty nighties.

In fact let’s celebrate our lazy half arsed scuzzball heritage by offering £3 entry to anyone in jimmy jams or nighties at our gigs all this week…don’t forget yer teddy…

FULL DUBLIN CASTLE LISTINGS

THURSDAY 4TH  FEBRUARY

DAVID CARROLL AND THE MIGRATING FELLOWS- Onstage 10.45pm

Winningly describing himself as the hardest working Austro-Czech-American-Irish-Jew in the songwriting business , DC and his fine fellows rock a kind of skewed country rock/pop.. Think The National meets Eels... nice..

IN LIKE FLYNN- Onstage 10pm

Falsetto vox sits atop riffy rocknrollmaking …this sound like The Gang Of Four gone disco tits. Has that sort of hard rocking edgy wigging out vibe with syncopated drums that reminds slightly of Hendrix meets Electric 6...or really early Japan...or Zappa ?!
Also appearing tonite THE UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT and THE IDLERS

FRIDAY 5TH  FEBRUARY

BUBBLEGUM SCREW- Onstage 10.45pm

Ooo-er, sounds a bit rude…whilst we all ponder the denouement of their name, rest assured that if it's Breton fisherman shirted acid toned rocknroll somewhere between The Patti Smith Group and The Dead Boys you're after, then get blowing…..Pop!!

SUPERBIA- Onstage 8.30pm

Janglesome 60s threads get interweeved with Dylanalike songcraft and some punchy powerpop is born.
Also appearing tonite CASH FOR CARS and DEGREES RISING
Your DJs are THE REJECT CLUB

SATURDAY 6TH  FEBRUARY

THE DARLING BONES- Onstage 10.45pm

The Libertines meets second-wave ska. Catchy and infectious pop-punk with more emphasis on the punk.

THE STANLEY BLACKS- Onstage 10pm

Those marvellously coiffured cocksure stage enhancers The SBs return to grace us again with their swish take on The Kooks getting punked up a bit..

FUSILEERS- Onstage 9.15pm

Growlsome rocknroll with a sub psychedelic dark heart gets supplanted by a more folk based vibe, influenced by Two Gallants and you can hear that, there’s also elements of the more emotive end of British sea power, vis some good dramatic powerful vocals.

THE CAMPAIGN- Onstage 8.30pm

Buzzcocks, early Husker Du and a touch of the Joey Ramones about the vocal. Romford based, nifty little punk pop toons. Lotsa skinny ties and waistcoats , white slip on shoes etc..and indeed I also hear The Flamin' Groovies… the Saints, this really is powerpop.
Your DJ this evening is FUZZ

SUNDAY 7TH FEBRUARY

VITA AND THE VISCIOUS- Onstage 9.30pm

All a bit indie-Suzi Quatro meets Blondie. But don’t let that put you off! This is fabulous pop fun… good tunes, well-presented and probably young and gorgeous from the bleedin’ sound of it.

MUFFX- Onstage 8.45pm

Queens of The Stone Age via Eagles of Death Metal ... from the south of Italy...  Doors style keys pound and sweep delightfully and you may also care to think of Gillan era Deep Purple....
Also appearing tonite THE UNDIVIDED, KAIROS and SHEEP BO PEEP

TUESDAY 2ND FEBRUARY

BITTER RUIN- Onstage 10pm

Ms Florence Welch. Appealing and alluring. Male vocal diminishes and lets the female counterpoint ishine. Dark and different.

MR LOVE AND JUSTICE- Onstage 9.15pm

A fine meshing of Floyd, Dylan and The Beatles- especially George Harrison. Fantastic musicianship and luverly guitars. You’d have to mention the latter period of XTC too- and this lot likewise hail from Swindonia, the Magical Twin Kingdom of Disneyville…

THURSDAY 4TH FEBRUARY

8 BALL SHIMBASI- Onstage 10pm

The Sonics/Swamp Rats updated. Garage rock at its finest. Bowie vocal with a surf rock twist. Fun and exciting!

CHATTERBOX- Onstage 8.30pm

Assured indie pop that has some nice touches with filmic bits of dialogue wafting in and stuff...a kind of rockier/rootsier Bloc Party vibe via more groove based stuff.
Allso appearing tonite THE BLACK SAND and FEVERDOGG

FRIDAY 5TH FEBRUARY

THE CELLAR FAMILY- Onstage 10.45pm

Raw garagey punk pop with twists and turns apleanty sometimes coming on like the clash then all of a sudden it's acid punk then it gets syncopated and interesting like the 1st pop group l.p pretty good there's also a bit of early x.t.c. in here, good stuff.

DEAD COWBOY CULTURE- Onstage 8.30pm

From Midlands, sound kindda of Iggy Pop and early Roxy Music or a bit of Tuxido Moon! Robust and effusive jazz-punk style. Original songs, really pretty good, pretty nice to book!!!
Also appearing tonite I LOVE ZAGREB and MORIARTI
