Camden Town's legendary Dublin Castle [ancestral seat of Madness and Blur?!] and Islington's sweatiest RocknRoll retreat The Hope and Anchor [ punk rock saloon bar none!] are Bugbear's signature venues. Two of the finest small pub venues in London , and both party to an outstanding heritage.

Jointly run by Jim Mattison and Tony Gleed, Bugbear understands the needs and desires of the thrusting young guitar slinger and microphone manipulator.

We pride ourselves on getting to the rising stars of tomorrow some time today.

So, once where Amy Winehouse, Supergrass, Muse, Art Brut, The Libertines and The View trod the boards any number of tomorrow's hotties follow…

The Cesarians, General Fiasco, British India and Nedry but that's just four acts that spring to mind…..simply trawl our listings and come on down…there's any number of talented artists to appreciate.

Fear not as we always pay our performers so long as they garner enough support on the night of their performance. Pay to play has no place within our philosophy-as former stuggling musicians we appreciate all too well how much it's costing you already once you've bought yer temperamental gear, paid for yer rain soaked rehearsal space and filled yer rust enhanced van up with petrol.

We also maintain arse kicking state of the art PA systems and provide essential post gig DJ action to help give punter and performer alike a rounded and coooool evening of entertainment.

Needless to say The Dublin Castle and The Hope and Anchor are highly esteemed platforms for new talent to reach friends, fans and A and R men alike.
