People Get Ready To Do Rocksteady...

Dead On 4, the monthly Obit Orbit outta Reel Rebels Radio sails sadly close to home as Tony Buggerbear says goodbye to the old chap , the utter one off that was Charlie Gleed. Jazz fan, agriculturalist, painter, cartoonist, engineer, and all round clever bugger. Rest In Peace Chaz. We also say goodbye to the likes of Anita Pallenberg, Craig Gill, Gary Di Carlo, Timothy Wilson and Eddie Lewis, amongst others. And unfortunately say hello to Ted Shiva’s bag of dodgy freebie CDs (pictured) given away with even dodgier publications and supplied by Barry One Tooth in a drunken Faustian pact in the Rochester Castle. It’s all good.

Click on that pile of shite there and immerse yourself in two hours of fabulous music and slightly less fabulous waffle from two old noctambulators.

And forget ye not, a rocksteady reggae tour de force awaits you on a balmy August night in the CBGBs of London, The Dublin Castle, natch….

Saturday 11th August The Dublin Castle

Pama International + DJ D’Oxman

Click for cheap tickets. London’s premier soul informed rocksteady stylists Pama International are a unique and inspirational outfit you simply have to see live. An amazing smile inducing rubadub delight. No wonder DJs of the calibre of Rodigan and Craig Charles are punishing their recent fabulous records, such as the brilliant current 45 ‘Wake Up’ another in a (rock)steady succession of stupendous sides (of course they’re out on vinyl) surrounding their ‘Love And Austerity’ LP. Muscle Shoals meets Orange Street and everyone’s a winner. And Dub Vendor veteran D’Oxman at the decks is an amazing bonus as anyone who’s ever caught his tremendous Soho Radio show will know. Dancing shoes required.
