Tales Of A Rock Star's Daughter, The Cesarians, All Lunatics Lost And Found....

Wednesday 6th March

The Dublin Castle Rockn Roll Book Club

Nettie Baker and The Cesarians Get Cheap Tickets Here

Excellent to welcome the amazing Cesarians back to The Dublin Castle, rocking a very special ‘book club plus’ performance on Wed 6th March alongside their good pal Nettie Baker. Cesarians songwriter and pianist Justine even appears in Nettie’s book as ‘The Queen Of The Scene’ no less. The Cesarians will add their unique passion and fire to the evening, finishing off proceedings at what promises to be an exciting and erudite evening. Tales of a Rock Star’s Daughter are the sharp , funny recollections of Nettie Baker, eldest daughter of Ginger Baker, legendary ‘wild man’ and drummer with the Graham Bond Organisation, Cream, Blind Faith and Airforce. From poverty to riches and back, featuring a colourful cast of characters known and unknown, Nettie’s book features at the Dublin Castle RNR Book Club on Wed 6th March, with your hosts Tony Gleed and Julie Hamill. The self same pair are expertly guiding you through the fabulous show outta Boogaloo Radio available by clicking on the rather sweet image of Nettie and Ginger above, the cover of the book indeed. Our other special guest on that particular radio happening is Ye Goode King Of Ye Trashe, Mike Spenser of The Cannibals, a major figure in post punk British music and then some. Thus we’re discussing and appraising the wonderful 1980s British garage band scene brilliantly portrayed in the Cherry Red Recprds 3 CD Box Set ‘Just A Bad Dream’. We have copies to give away too so tipppy tappy on Ginger, listen up and maybe grab yerself one. Ooga Wooga Ooga Woogaas a great man once said.

Lunatics Lost are fronted by Welsh vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Iain Richards with Joanna Khoo on bass/vocals and Mono on drums. Dig into their fantastic ‘Sleeping Beauties’, a Brexit inspired twisted pop gem, bedded behind their luverly pic just there. With influences from grunge, stoner rock, new wave and punk, the band blend big riffs with melodic hooks giving a powerful platform for lyrics full of bite and edge with clear reference to the social commentary of The Clash and the Manics. [more] “Lunatics Lost reinvents and renews your faith in rock in a way that satisfies all the promise of post – punk to a level other bands can only aspire to. Full of edgy, exciting riffs that will leave you in awe of a band that is set to blow your mind in 2018”  – Pure music live. On Thursday 7th March, Lunatics Lost re-ignite their Dublin Castle residency with an amazing bill also starring Solomon Pico (cosmic rock/electropop artist based in France. Atmospheric guitars, groovy bass lines and electronic samples help create a striking musical universe inspired by the likes of Beck, Anna Calvi and David Bowie)and In Disguises (Indie rock with a bit of a post-prog rock undertow, well played, sharp production and a Bloc Party vibe). Obscenity State (Electro noir with sassy vocals and fiery front presence provided by one Nilly Brook) Doors 8pm.

Thursday 4th April Lunatics Lost are joined by Mixed Opinions. Rock of a classic bent meets Brit Hop, with old school riffage and fluid rapping- anyOne recall Audioweb? Also, Toreador, bringing together gigantic guitars, snaking rhythms and butter melting harmonies that evoke comparisons to Queens of the Stone Age and Led Zeppelin. “This Behemoth track has to be one of my favourites. I literally can’t stop listening to it” –BBC Introducing Solent (for debut single ‘Hollow’) Tremendous specialize in anthemic indie rock with a nod to glam and powerpop. T Rex, Ziggy era Bowie, Mott The Hoople, great stuff. Enjoy!
