The Dublin Castle Saturday 30th September
Mike Spenser And The Cannibals + Jonah Gold and his Silver Apples
+ DJs Mike Spenser and Tony Bugbear
The Cannibals have been kicking up punk dirt for over 40 years in one form or another, and numerous Cannibalistic alumni will be alighting the stage tonight to celebrate with Mr S. Mike once fronted Chiswick Records biker pub/punkers The Count Bishops, roadied for the New York Dolls in their pomp and has been known to wear Lux Interior’s ring. He’s goddammn rocknroll royalty. Sad to report it will be the Cannibals Farewell gig after 41 years but the mantra is ‘Forever Trash!’ Cannibals from past to present come and join the fun. Two sets tonight, the 1978/9 Cannibals and the current Cannibals, plus a video montage of all things Trash and Cannibalistic. Jonah Gold and his Silver Apples– Purveyors of pure garage gold Jonah and his firm, fleshy fruits outta Germany will be providing peerless support tonight.
The Dublin Castle Friday 29th September
999 + Morgellons
+ Snide
999- Nick Cash, Guy Days, Pablo Labritain, Arturo Bassick hit the mojo riddled Dublin Castle stage again, last time they were awesome so don’t miss their long anticipated return. For those of you living under the punk n roll equivalent of a stone (a Rolling Stone?) 999 were/are a fantastic first generation punk act with an amazing array of punk pop material that touches on glam and rhythm n blues in part but always has the visceral high energy you’d expect and is ripe and rich with tunes tunes tunes. Nasty Nasty, Emergency, Homicide, Crime et al…brilliant.
With… Morgellons– Signed to Flicknife Records the excellent Morgellons are totally worth catching ya get me- a blend of Killing Joke, Joy Division and The Ruts with a deep and dark urgency all their own. Proper. Snide – buzzsaw punk rock from the Kentish badlands.
